About a year ago I came across one of the soon-to-be-gems of the internet, IFTTT (If This Then That). It's a website which specializes in connecting web services. It calls these connections "recipes". Want to automatically save all your tweets in a Google sheet? There's a recipe for that. Want to save Snapchat photos to your Wordpress site? It can do that. In fact, do you want to do anything automatically with Wordpress? Not joking. The concept is amazing. The execution is getting better.

1) When adding new files to Dropbox, automatically add those files to my school's Google Drive account. (This still doesn't work well for me. I think it has to do with which folders I'm attempting to sync.)

When I tried the Flickr to Weebly recipe last summer, the formatting was all wonky. Rather than fitting the photo to the size of my blog, it kept the original dimensions of the photo and added scroll bars. Not cool. I tried it a couple of times, deleted the blog posts, and then ignored it. Last night I was surfing Google discussion forums looking for a way to create a script which will automatically create new Google calendar events every time I fill in a cell in Google sheets. No luck on that front. But I did stumble across IFTTT again. I remembered my login and found my old recipes. I decided to try out the Flickr to Weebly one again. Much better. Scroll down and check it out. Two photos, each with a title. Nothing fancy and oh so easy.
Now, I don't use Flickr in my normal life but that's what makes this work so well for me. I only plan on using Flickr to upload photos to this blog. My hope is that by only posting a photo and not having to think of something to say, I will increase the number of times I post in a month throughout the school year.
