Prayer Class

Prayer has been a passion of mine for quite some time. I’ve learned all sorts of methods and read all sorts of books; some of them have even been helpful. In my journey I’ve learned two basic truths:

1) what you believe about God dramatically influences how you pray and
2) the best way to learn how to pray is to actually spend time in prayer.

Consequently, this class will spend some time every month teaching and then will spend the rest of the month interacting with what we’ve learned on a practical level.

General Schedule:

•     Each month has about 7 classes.
•     Class 1: Teaching
•     Class 2: Application of Teaching
•     Class 3: Biblical Meditation
•     Class 4: Listening prayer
•     Class 5: Journaling
•     Class 6: Listening prayer
•     Class 7: Worship Painting (2 Class periods every other month)

There are about 9 months but December and January are cut short in terms of prayer class (Xmas break and exams)

•  Month 1 - Why pray? and What is God like?
•  Month 2 - The nature and working of faith in the Christian life.
•  Month 3 - Valuing God's presence.
• Month 4 - Receiving from the Lord (Holy Spirit's gifts)   
  

• Month 5 - Cultivating our hearts (living a focused life)
• Month 6 - Living a life of repentance.
• Month 7 - What to do with what God tells you. (promises and declarations)
• Month 8 - Intercession as partnering with God
